Go Into All The World

by Semona Michael

Jesus said to them, “Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. Mark 16:15

So, my husband Michael and I serve as missionaries. We attend to the needs of vulnerable people around the world through medical missions, digging deep water wells in countries where clean water is scarce and responding to disasters by providing immediate aid and respite. While doing this we are able to share the gospel and God’s love and plant local churches in those areas.

On one such medical mission to two poverty stricken rural villages in India in August this year, Michael was supposed to carry around five hundred reading glasses which had been donated by an organisation in Queensland, Australia.

Now as most of us are aware that the current communal climate in India is very fragile especially towards Christians and evangelical works. Overseas Christian Missionaries, donations of any kind are not welcome into the country.

Taking over five hundred reading glasses to the people there seemed like an impossible task, and there was an expectation of it being confiscated at customs or much worse, maybe Michael being held for questioning.

Prayer requests were sent out and prayers were answered!

This is a statement from Michael:

“Hi all, thanks for all your prayers and support. I was able to bring in the spectacles to Bangalore, India. I stood in the green channel; they stopped me at the exit. They had marked my bag containing the reading glasses with chalk for screening and somehow when I stood in line, they let me go without any questions. “

This is so encouraging, that God is with us every step of the way and He goes before us to prepare the hearts of the people while making paths through the darkness! All glory to Him alone!

Deuteronomy 1:30 says, “The LORD your God who goes before you will Himself fight on your behalf.”

What a comfort to know that we don't have to fight our battles alone. God will fight for us.

I want each of you to be encouraged in the knowledge and understanding that our God is enough! No matter what you are going through at the moment, know for sure that you are not alone, He alone is your refuge, your stronghold, your victory!

‘But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.’ 1 Corinthians 15:57

The Bible is clear, Jesus is OUR victory! We don't get victory by fighting for it and wrestling with the devil. Victory is ours through faith. As we abide in Jesus, we live in it.

Semona and her husband Michael serve as missionaries. They have to primary aged boys, Lucas and Timothy. Semona believes that God is enough! Unending joy is found in Him and everlasting life through His son Jesus Christ, it’s her heart’s desire to share this gift, which is freely given to all who will receive.
